Pure Color, Pure Nature, Pure Polyphenols
Biolink Group and the University of Bergen initiated a cooperation in 1998 based on extraction technology for pure polyphenols and flavonoids.
Polyphenols is based on production of anthocyanins and other polyphenols. The team is well reputated for its knowledge and expertise on flavonoids.
Our customers are found in more than 60 countries all over the world. They spread from food, wine and pharmaceutical industry, to medical, chemical and biological laboratories.
The team is supporting and participating in several research projects around the world involving anthocyanins and other polyphenols.
What are Anthocyanins?
Anthocyanins is a large water-soluble pigment group found in a large number of fruits, vegetables and flowers. These are the pigments that give plants their brilliant colours ranging from pink through scarlet, purple and blue. Some pharmaceutical effects of anthocyanins have been suggested, for example in treatment of cardiovascular diseases and in ophthalmology. The antioxidant potentials of anthocyanins are high.
Even though science has identified more than 500 different anthocyanins, only a few are available in a pure state. Polyphenols can now deliver 36 different products extracted from natural sources.
Pure Analysis
Polyphenols offers different kinds of analytical work, expertise and knowledge related to the analysis of anthocyanins and other flavonoids.
Polyphenols can provide analytical services related to anthocyanins, flavonoids, stilbenoids and other polyphenolic compounds.
The services include sample extraction, fractionation of extracts or mixtures, sample screening by chromatographic techniques and isolation of specific compounds.
Pure Products
Polyphenols can at the moment provide more than 30 different products in various amounts.
All products produced by Polyphenols have been extracted from natural sources. The sources include various plants, fruits and berries.
All products (except from mixtures) produced by Polyphenols will be delivered with a HPLC purity above 97%.
